From Sam's point of view...
The idea of becoming a dancer never changed from age 4 years old to 19 years old when I left dance college to finally become a professional dancer. Every lesson I had at Alexander Academy was one step closer to my dream.

I was never competitive with the other students at Alexander Academy. My focus was always for me to do better than what I had achieved in my last dance class, rather than on trying to be better than others.
I loved every dance discipline that I did at Alexzander Academy and when I left I had learnt 5 dance disciplines. Which I guess was the groundwork and start of me becoming versatile as a dancer.......Read More

My favourite dance disciplines were Classical (ballet) and Jazz. I could not wait till I was old enough to do pointe work in my Classical classes. I loved pointe work so much I didn't mind if I had the odd blister from pointe work and if I did have a blister I knew it was because I hadn't lifted my weight off my toes enough by using my centre. If your dance teacher keeps repeating use your centre, listen well and use it. I had no idea when I was younger just how important it was to use your centre.
