Latin American is the dance style that is going to teach you how to have snake hips, because Latin American dancers roll their hips very smoothly, as if there are no joints in their hips. If you're having trouble with your hip isolations, then learn any of the Latin American dances. Latin American was my 6th dance discipline I was learning at Peggy Spencers while learning 5 other dance disciplines at Alexander Academy.
I believe it was my Latin American training that contributed to being able to really use my hips when I learnt a stage walk called "tipping" in Jazz dance classes. It's a simple walk for dancers to use on stage, but when girls do it, it's all about those hips to spice it up!
Sam Modeste
Sam started Latin American dancing at the Peggy Spencer's School when she was 10 years old.
Exams were classed as medals i.e. bronze, silver, gold, gold star 1,2 and 3. Sam took all of her medal exams and passed with high scores.
Sam also took Ballroom dance lessons for a while, but found it not energetic enough and so gave it up.
Sam joined Peggy's 10-11 years old formation team and attended Latin American competitions with her team which was named the Red team.
